Who We Are

The Page Family Homestead was purchased and founded in 2017 by Corey and Emily Page. Born and raised in Logan County, Kentucky, Corey always dreamed to be a small-scale farmer. After graduating high school, Corey went on to drive professionally over-the-road. After purchasing the homestead and growing for a few years, Corey was able to become a homesteader full-time, operating the farm as his main income for our family. I, however, was born and raised in a big city and never dreamed I would ever live on a farm, much less operate a business from one. Working in retail from a young age, I always had a desire to serve those around me. With a love for customer service and an entrepreneurial mindset, I left my job in the public to be able to work from the farm and begin marketing for the upcoming spring season, which was our first year opening the doors of our small greenhouse.

Starting with just five acres, a chicken coop, and the ranch-style farmhouse, the homestead had great potential to grow. The first task on the homestead was building our largest of several family gardens. After setting a 50x75’ fence, we built our ‘Back to Eden’ garden, starting with newspapers, several tons of compost, and a thick layer of woodchips. Over time, we have changed the way we garden and build beds, learning that what may work for one area, may not be what is best for our growing zone or climate.  We have now grown to have our large family garden, several small raised beds and several areas that we till and rotate crop throughout the long growing season.

During the peak season on the homestead, we operate our greenhouses, selling retail to the local community and surrounding areas. We offer herbs and vegetable plants, bedding flowers, mixed planters, and hanging baskets. Our first season began inside our 30x48’ greenhouse, and we now operate out of three houses for our growing and retail services. In the Fall, we offer mums, pumpkins, perennials, and a variety of fall time décor.

Learning and growing each year, our family has almost outgrown the acreage here on the homestead. What started as fields and chickens has grown to include Kune Kune pigs, meat goats, Guinea fowl, Angus-Jersey steers, Anatolian & Pyrenees livestock guardians, & our Australian Shepherds. Having our livestock at the heart of the homestead has truly given our family a sense of love and purpose. As we serve our community and expand the life on the farm, we thank God for His blessings, provisions, creation and growth, and we look forward to sharing it all with you!
